Apple’s much-anticipated iPhone 17 launch is scheduled for September. At the key launch event, the US tech giant will unveil the four new models of its upcoming lineup: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone 17 Air.
While a lot has been speculated about the pro and flagship Air model, the iPhone 17 is also creating buzz among fans. While nothing is confirmed yet, various reports and tipsters have given a sneak peek into what to anticipate from the upcoming model’s launch.
It is expected that iPhone 17 will likely feature Apple's in-house A19 chip. The pro models are likely to be powered by the pro version of this chipset. Additionally, all four models are likely to have aluminium frames.
A report by CNET suggests that iPhone 17 could come with a major upgrade of 12 GB RAM as Apple Intelligence and AI will likely be thoroughly integrated into the model’s performance. This will be a huge upgrade from the iPhone 16 lineup’s 8GB RAM.
Reports also indicate that the upcoming series may feature a 120Hz display (Pro Motion). While a lot is not known about the camera features of the new models, the iPhone 17 lineup is expected to feature a 24 megapixels front camera.
CNET report also stated that this launch might be the last time when Apple follows its fall-release model. From iPhone 18 onwards, the tech giant may switch to an alternative release model, unveiling the lower-cost iPhones in the first half of the year. This means that the high-end models will be released in the later half of the year from 2026.
