Marcus Rashford etched his name into Barcelona's recent history on Saturday, scoring the club's 300th goal of the Hansi Flick era during their La Liga clash against Atletico Madrid at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.
The strike came in the 42nd minute, just three minutes after Guiliano Simeone had given Atletico Madrid the lead.
More than just an equaliser, the goal underlined the scale and speed of Flick's attacking transformation — a system that has redefined Barcelona's output in front of goal.

After absorbing sustained pressure, Barcelona transitioned rapidly. Rashford initiated the move with a strong run down the left before cutting in to share a sharp one-two with Dani Olmo.
Olmo's through ball split the Atletico defence and Rashford, starting in place of the injured Raphinha, timed his run and finished clinically, firing a first–time left-footed strike past Juan Musso into the far bottom corner.
Why This Goal Matters
Rashford's finish took Barcelona to 300 goals in just 107 matches under Flick, translating to an average of 2.81 goals per game, the highest in the club's modern managerial era.
Crucially, it places Flick ahead of Pep Guardiola in reaching the milestone. Guardiola's Barcelona required 123 matches to hit the same mark, underlining the accelerated attacking output of the current side.
Robert Lewandowski scored a late winner in the 87th minute to extend the tally to 301 goals under Flick. Lewandowski is also the biggest beneficiary of the Flick era, as the player with most goals (60) under the new manager.
Flick is now the joint fourth-fastest manager in Barcelona history to reach 300 goals:
Helenio Herrera – 99 matches
Ferdinand Daučík – 101
Jack Greenwell – 105
Hansi Flick / Luis Enrique – 107
Pep Guardiola – 123
Since Flick's arrival, Barcelona have maintained remarkable consistency across competitions. The 2024-25 campaign was particularly prolific, ending as the third-highest-scoring season in the club's entire history.
Total goals: 300 (in 107 matches)
2024–25 season: 174 goals
2025–26 season (ongoing): 127 goals
Breakdown by competition further highlights the spread:
La Liga: 182 goals
Champions League: 73
Copa del Rey: 31
Spanish Super Cup: 15
More than just the landmark goal, the 2-1 win against Atletico Madrid, ensured Barcelona extend their lead at the top of the table to seven points after Real Madrid dropped points with a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Mallorca.
