Sunrisers Hyderabad has registered another mammoth total on Sunday to set a new record. Rajasthan Royals’ Jofra Archer also set an unpleasant feat in the same match.

Most Number of 250+ Totals in T20

In the second match of this year’s IPL, SRH registered 286 runs against Rajasthan Royals. With this, they recorded the most number of 250+ totals in IPL as well as T20 cricket history. SRH has breached the 250-run mark four times in the franchise competition. They also own four of the top five highest team totals in IPL history.

Second Highest Score

SRH’s score of 286 is the second-highest in IPL history. The highest and third-highest total in IPL history also belongs to Sunrisers Hyderabad. If they had scored one more run, they would have equalled their record of 287 which they set last season.

Most Expensive Bowling Spell 

Rajasthan Royals' Jofra Archer bowled the most expensive spell in IPL history in the campaign opener against SRH. In his four overs, the England international gave away 76 runs without taking any wickets. The previous record belonged to former Gujarat Titans pacer Mohit Sharma, who had been hit for 73 runs in IPL 2024.

The game against SRH saw Riyan Parag-led Rajasthan Royals register their highest score in IPL. Their score of 242/6 against the Sunrisers Hyderabad came in a losing cause but was etched in history as they beat their previous best score of 226/6 set against Punjab Kings in 2020.

SRH’s Ishan Kishan smashed an unbeaten 107 against RR, becoming the fourth batter to score a century on franchise debut after Brendon McCullum (158* for KKR in 2008), Mike Hussey (116* for CSK in 2008) and Chris Gayle (102* for RCB, 2011). His 45-ball hundred is also the fastest on the list.

Reigning champions Kolkata Knight Riders failed to overcome Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2025 opener. It was the 10th time that defending winners lost their opening match of a season. Chennai Super Kings last time replicated the unwanted feat in the 2022 edition.
