Motilal Oswal Report

Our in-house Economic Activity Index for India's real gross value added (called EAI-GVA) posted growth of 7.7% YoY in July 2021 (the lowest in five months), against 10.7% YoY in June 2021 and a contraction of 5.2% YoY in July 2020.

This was led by broad-based moderation in July-21.

On the contrary, EAI-gross domestic product exhibited better growth of 5.6% YoY in July-21, against 2.7% YoY growth in June-21, but much weaker versus March–May 2021.

While investments grew at the lowest level in five months in July-21, private consumption grew at a three-month-high pace during the month.
