India's Parliament will meet for the winter session from Dec. 1 to Dec. 19, 2025, Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju said in a post on X on Friday.
He said President Droupadi Murmu had approved the government's proposal to convene the session, which may be adjusted depending on the progress of legislative business.

The winter sitting will be the final full session before the 2026 Union Budget, when lawmakers are expected to take up key bills and other legislative priorities.
Monsoon Session
The Monsoon Session of Parliament commenced on July 21 and concluded on Aug. 21 after being adjourned sine die. The session lasted 32 days and included 21 sittings.
During this period, 14 Bills were introduced in the Lok Sabha. Of these, 12 were passed by the Lok Sabha and 15 by the Rajya Sabha, with a total of 15 Bills receiving approval from both Houses. One Bill was also withdrawn in the Lok Sabha.
A special discussion on Operation Sindoor, India's retaliatory strike against Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack, was held in both Houses. Another discussion on “India's First Astronaut aboard the International Space Station: The Critical Role of the Space Programme in Viksit Bharat 2047" began in the Lok Sabha but remained unfinished due to frequent disruptions.
Persistent interruptions affected the session's overall output, bringing productivity down to about 31% in the Lok Sabha and 39 percent in the Rajya Sabha. The Lok Sabha conducted 37 hours of discussion out of the 120 scheduled, while the Rajya Sabha managed 41 hours and 15 minutes of debate.
In the Rajya Sabha, except for The Bills of Lading Bill, 2025, which was passed without any disruption on the first day of the Monsoon session, the other bills were passed after some discussion amid din or only after the Opposition parties staged a walk out, the functionary said
