(Bloomberg) -- Democrat Sharice Davids defeated Republican incumbent Kevin Yoder in the race to represent Kansas's 3rd Congressional District, according to NBC and ABC projections.
The victory by Davids, a lawyer and former professional mixed martial arts fighter, flips the Kansas City area district held by Yoder since 2011 to the Democratic column.
