(Bloomberg) -- New York state's 27-member congressional delegation will shift more Democratic no matter who wins in two upstate districts that remain undecided.
So far, Democrats hold a 20-to-5 majority, with two undecided districts now held by Republicans.
Before the midterms, Democrats held a 17-to-9 seat edge, with one vacancy. They gained two seats previously held by Republicans -- John Faso in the Catskill Mountain region and Dan Donovan in New York City. The vacant seat to be filled after the death of longtime Congresswoman Louise Slaughter remained Democratic.
In the undecided races, two-term U.S. Representative Chris Collins, 68, of Schenectady -- who faces federal insider-trading charges -- holds a 1.1 percentage-point lead over Democrat Nate McMurray after the machine votes were counted. Incumbent Claudia Tenney, 57, trails Anthony Brindisi, 39, a Democratic state Assemblyman from Utica, by 0.6 percentage point. Thousands of absentee and military ballots in the two districts will be counted after Nov. 19, according to state law.
