Recent Power Disruptions
This isn’t the first time residents have had to deal with scheduled outages recently. Just last week, several areas in Bengaluru experienced power cuts on May 15 as BESCOM carried out essential infrastructure upgrades and routine maintenance. These continued interruptions highlight the utility’s ongoing efforts to modernise and stabilise the electricity supply across its service regions.
With a power cut scheduled for almost the entire day on May 20, residents in the affected areas have been advised by BESCOM to plan in advance. Charging mobile phones, laptops and other essential devices beforehand is recommended. Avoiding the use of lifts during outage hours and making alternate arrangements for work-from-home or business operations could help minimise disruption.
