BJP MLA Rekha Gupta took charge as the ninth Chief Minister of Delhi at her Secretariat office on Thursday.

New Delhi Government Ministers List: Rekha Gupta, a first-time MLA of the Bharatiya Janata Party, took oath as the Delhi chief minister on Thursday, a day after the party finalised her for the top role. Alongside her, six other BJP legislators were sworn in as ministers in the new government.
Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena administered the oath to office in a grand ceremony held at Ramleela Maidan. The event was attended by top BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
The swearing-in ceremony was held days after BJP won 48 out of 70 seats in the assembly election, thereby ending its 27-year drought from power in the national capital.

Who is Rekha Gupta
Born in Haryana’s Jind, Rekha Gupta began her career in student politics while studying at the Daulat Ram College, University of Delhi. She served as the President of the Delhi University Students’ Union from 1996 to 1997 and was a three-time councillor in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. She will be Delhi’s fourth woman CM.
Who is Parvesh Verma
Son of former Delhi CM, Sahib Singh Verma, Parvesh Verma emerged as a giant killer by defeating former CM and Aam Aadmi Party supremo Arvind Kejriwal in the New Delhi seat by a margin of about 4,000 votes. Verma, 47, has also represented the West Delhi Lok Sabha seat from 2014 to 2024. Although he was not fielded in the 2024 general elections, Verma was appointed as co-in charge for overseeing the party's preparation in Rajasthan during the general elections.
Who is Kapil Mishra
Once a key member of Kejriwal’s AAP, Kapil Mishra is now the BJP MLA from the Karawal Nagar seat in east Delhi. The 44-year-old is seen as a fiery Hindutva leader. He is the son of former East Delhi Mayor Annapurna Mishra. Mishra joined the BJP in 2019, two years after his fallout with AAP. He was made the vice-president of Delhi BJP in 2023.
Who is Ashish Sood
A key Punjabi face in the newly-formed Delhi government, Sood comes with a strong Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh background. He was elected as the MLA from the Janakpuri constituency. Sood has also served as vice president of BJP’s Delhi unit.
Who is Manjinder Singh Sirsa
Sirsa, a leader from the Sikh community, won the assembly elections from Rajouri Garden. Formerly associated with the Shiromani Akali Dal and considered close to the influential Badal family, he joined the BJP in 2021.
Who is Ravinder Indraj Singh
He won the Bawana (SC) seat by more than 31,000 votes in the elections this year. The 50-year-old has also been an executive member of BJP’s Scheduled Caste Morcha.
Who is Pankaj Singh?
A dentist by profession, Singh is a Purvanchal face in the Delhi government. He is a first-time MLA from Vikaspuri.
