India-Pak Tensions: India Says Any Future Terror Act Will Be Treated As 'Act Of War'
The decision comes amid the escalating conflict between India and Pakistan since the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians.

Amid the ongoing border tensions between India and Pakistan, India has decided that any further act of terror against the country will be deemed as an 'act of war' and will be given appropriate response, reported NDTV on Saturday, citing top government officials.
The decision comes amid the escalating conflict between India and Pakistan since the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians.
In response to the attack, India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting terror infrastructures at nine locations in Pakistan and PoK.
The situation further escalated as Pakistan retaliated with drone and missile strikes apart from heavy shelling across the border towns of northern and western India with India giving an appropriate response to it.
Earlier on Saturday, the G7 nations urged for an immediate de-escalation in the conflict between India and Pakistan and requested both the sides to begin direct dialogue.
In a unified statement, the G7 nations—Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States—condemned the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam and urged restraint.
“Further military escalation poses a serious threat to regional stability. We call for immediate de-escalation and encourage both countries to engage in direct dialogue towards a peaceful outcome,” the group said.
