The toll for the active cases of the Covid-19 virus in Maharashtra rose to 2,613 after the state reported 10 fresh cases on Thursday. No death of a Covid-19 patient has been reported since Saturday. A girl was killed after a landslide triggered by rains hit a mountainous area of Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district on Thursday, PTI reported.

A 14-year-old girl was found allegedly murdered at her residence in Bengaluru South district, PTI reported citing police.

The girl, a sixth-grade student, had stayed home from school that day in Tavarekere town. Her parents, daily wage labourers from Koppal, were away at a construction site when the incident occurred, the report further added.

A large crater engulfed a truck in Gurugram late Wednesday night after heavy rainfall caused a section of the road to collapse, significantly disrupting traffic, NDTV reported.

The incident took place around 10:30 pm on the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) when the truck, traveling along the route, unexpectedly fell into the newly formed crater. The truck overturned and has remained stuck in the crater since the collapse, the report said.

The Supreme Court posed challenging questions to the Election Commission on Thursday regarding the 'special intensive revision' of electoral rolls in Bihar, which comes just months before a significant Assembly election, NDTV reported.

While the court acknowledged the legality of the exercise, it questioned the Election Commission's decision to commence the process so close to the election. "The issue is not with the exercise itself, but with its timing," the court remarked to the EC, the report further said.

The European Space Agency has indicated that the Axiom-4 mission crew currently aboard the International Space Station will remain in orbit until at least July 14, HT said.

This extension means that mission commander Peggy Whitson, mission pilot Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, and mission specialists Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski and Tibor Kapu will stay on the ISS beyond the initially planned 14 days.
