Minutes into trade, the S&P 500 was up 0.15% or 10 points at 6,724.61, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq index opened 0.39% or 88 points higher at 22,876.76.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average, however, bucked the trend to open flat at 46,600.85.
