Top 10 Most-Valued Firms Gain Rs 2,875 Crore In Market Cap, Led By HDFC Bank, TCS

The NSE Nifty 50 and the BSE Sensex closed higher for the fourth consecutive session, clocking the best winning streak in months.

The top 10 most-valued firms gained a cumulative Rs 2,875 crore in market valuation on Tuesday, with HDFC Bank Ltd. and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. emerging as the biggest gainers.

HDFC Bank gained Rs 23,267 crore, taking its market capitalisation to approximately Rs 14.2 lakh crore, while TCS gained Rs 18,687 crore, with its market cap rising to approximately Rs 15.8 lakh crore. ICICI Bank Ltd. and State Bank of India gained Rs 5,072 crore and Rs 4,105 crore respectively.

The market cap of Larsen & Toubro Ltd. gained Rs 2,468 crore to Rs 5.23 lakh crore, while Infosys Ltd. lost Rs 41 crore, taking its market cap to Rs 7.85 lakh crore.

Bharti Airtel Ltd. lost Rs 21,007 crore, taking its market cap to Rs 9.01 lakh crore, while Reliance Industries Ltd. lost Rs 18,673 crore, with its market cap declining to Rs 17.7 lakh crore.

ITC Ltd. lost Rs 6,691 crore in market cap to Rs 5.84 lakh crore and Hindustan Unilever Ltd. lost Rs 4,311 crore, with its market cap falling to Rs 5.79 lakh crore.

RIL remained the most-valued firm, followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, Airtel, ICICI Bank, Infosys, SBI, HUL, ITC and HCL Technologies Ltd.

The NSE Nifty 50 and the BSE Sensex closed higher for the fourth consecutive session on Wednesday, clocking the best winning streak in months.

The Nifty 50 ended 10.30 points or 0.04% higher at 24,467.45, and the Sensex closed 110.58 points or 0.14% up at 80,956.33. In the last four sessions, the indices gained 1.39% and 1.45% respectively.

During the day, the Nifty 50 rose 0.47% to 24,573.20 and the Sensex advanced 0.49% to 81,245.39. The Sensex reclaimed the 81,000 mark for the first time in 29 sessions since Oct 21.

The Nifty 50 posted the best winning streak since Sept 26, while the Sensex recorded the best winning streak since Sept 2.
