Record-Breaking Blood Donation Drive On Gautam Adani's Birthday Collects 27,661 Units
Organised by the Adani Foundation, the community engagement arm of the Adani Group, the event took place across more than 150 cities in India.

A nationwide blood donation campaign held to mark the 63rd birthday of Gautam Adani, chairman of the Adani Group, achieved a feat by collecting 27,661 units of blood in a single day. This figure surpassed last year's collection of 24,500 units, NDTV reported.
Initiated in 2011 with a modest collection of 1,400 units, the drive has evolved into one of India's largest voluntary blood donation efforts. Organised by the Adani Foundation, the community engagement arm of the Adani Group, the event took place across more than 150 cities in India.
Under the supervision of the Adani Healthcare team, the drive saw participation from Adani Group employees. It was conducted in collaboration with blood banks from the Indian Red Cross Society and various government hospitals.
The Adani Group collected about 11,100 litres, expected to benefit over 83,000 patients, offering support via multiple blood components i.e whole Blood, PCV, Platelet Concentrates, Plasma, FFP, Cryoprecipitate, and Albumin.
“I deeply thank our Adani Parivaar for stepping forward and making this act of seva count,” said Dr Priti Adani, chairperson of the Adani Foundation. “Your generosity will touch countless lives.”
A dedicated team of over 2,000 professionals, including doctors, paramedics, data operators, and support staff from Adani companies, played a crucial role in the successful execution of the campaign.
The drive went global for the first time, with blood donation camps organised at Sri Lanka's Colombo West International Terminal Port and Tanzania's Dar-es-Salam Port with over 100 donors participating.
Since its inception in 2011, the Adani Foundation's annual blood donation drive has grown significantly in scale and reach, establishing itself as a major healthcare initiative.
