Nifty Top Gainers, Losers On March 25: From UltraTech, Trent To IndusInd Bank, Dr Reddy's
Bajaj Finserv and Grasim Industries also closed the day with gains as the stocks soared over 2%.
UltraTech Cement Ltd. and Trent Ltd. were among the top gainers on the NSE Nifty 50 on Tuesday, while IndusInd Bank Ltd. and Dr Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. declined the most.
The Nifty ended 10.3 points or 0.04% higher at 23,668.65, while the BSE Sensex closed 32.8 points or 0.04% up at 78,017.19. The indices gave up gains towards the end after hitting a three-month high.
Share price of UltraTech rose 3.9% intraday as trading volumes surged. It closed 3.2% higher at Rs 11,406 apiece. The second-best performer was Trent, which gained 3.8% to Rs 5,248.8 apiece during the day. At market close, the stock settled 2.54% higher at Rs 5,183 apiece.
Bajaj Finserv Ltd. and Grasim Industries Ltd. also closed the day with gains as the stocks soared over 2%.
The top laggard was IndusInd Bank Ltd. as the stock fell over 5%. It was the second consecutive day of decline. Dr Reddy's ended 3% lower, followed by 2% declines in Adani Enterprises Ltd and Coal India Ltd. Trent Ltd., Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. and Bharti Airtel Ltd. followed.
In terms of market cap, the 50-stock index shed Rs 50,280 crore in value.
