Nestle India Ltd. and Hindustan Unilever Ltd. were among the top gainers in the NSE Nifty 50 on Wednesday, while Wipro Ltd. and State Bank of India were among the worst performers.
The NSE Nifty 50 ended 136.70 points or 0.61% lower at 22,399.15, while the BSE Sensex closed 379.93 points or 0.51% down at 73,847.15.
Nestle India Ltd. gained 3.28% to trade at Rs 2,350 apiece at market close. It was followed by Hindustan Unilever Ltd., which rose as much as 2.61% to trade at Rs 2,349 per share. Tata Consumer Products Ltd., Titan Co. and Power Grid Corp. were also among the top gainers.
Among the top losers were Wipro as the stock declined as much as 4.23% to Rs 236.80. SBI fell 3.4% to trade at Rs 740 as the banking index declined nearly 1%.
Larsen & Toubro Ltd. declined to 3.13% to trade at Rs 3,062. Tech Mahindra Ltd. and Trent Ltd. were also among the top losers.
