Nifty Top Gainers And Losers On April 23: HCLTech, Tata Motors, Tech Mahindra To Axis Bank And SBI

HCLTech was among the top gainers as the IT firm contributed the most to the Nifty 50's gains.

Indian benchmark indices BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 continued their upward trajectory to close higher for the seventh consecutive trading session on Wednesday.

Nifty 50 closed 0.67%, or 161.7 points, higher at 24,328.95. The Sensex closed 0.65%, or 520.90 points, up at 80,116.49.

Infosys Ltd., HCL Technologies Ltd. and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. emerged as the top gainers in point contribution for the day. On the other hand, HDFC Bank Ltd., Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. and State Bank of India were the worst performers among the Nifty 50 stocks.

HCLTech was among the top gainers as the IT firm contributed the most to the Nifty 50's gains. The Nifty IT closed 4.34% higher.

Tata Motors Ltd. closed 4.6% higher at Rs 659.9 apiece. Intraday, the stock rose as much as 4.86%. Following closely behind, Tech Mahindra rose to close 4.58% higher at Rs 1,439.6 per share.

Wipro Ltd. closed 4.04% higher at Rs 243.60 apiece. The stock rose 4.78% intraday. The next biggest gainer of the trading session was Infosys Ltd. as the stock climbed to close 3.66% up at Rs 1,474.90 apiece.

The biggest laggard for the trading session was Grasim Ltd., as the stock declined 2.32% at market close to Rs 2,685.60 apiece. It was closely followed by HDFC Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank, which declined 1.93% and 1.84%, respectively.
