Indian equity markets begun Samvat 2077 on a positive note, ending the Mahurat Trading session with modest gains, after cooling off from the session's high.
The S&P BSE Sensex ended 0.45% higher at 43,637 while the NSE Nifty 50 index gained at a record closing high of 12,780 - up 0.5%.
Sectoral indices too ended with modest gains. The I.T and Realty indices ended with gains of 0.5% while the Nifty Pharma index ended with gains of 0.4%.
Nifty Bank, Nifty Auto, Nifty Metal indices ended with gains of 0.2%.
Smallcaps outperformed the benchmarks in today's sessions. The index ended 0.7% higher while the midcap index closed 0.4% higher.
1,391 stocks on the NSE ended with gains while 397 stocks declined.
The company's arm Kohima Mariani Transmission has successfully commissioned Element-2 of the Imphal-New Kohima Line of the project which now stands completed.
The asset has been divested to CLP India and the process of transaction closure will be completed soon.
Shares gained as much as 19% to Rs 304.8. This was the biggest single-day gain for the stock in seven months.
The stock currently trades at the highest level in nearly three months.

The last few days of Samvat 2076 were pretty eventful for India's stock markets. The S&P BSE Sensex and the NSE Nifty 50 not only recovered all their losses from the lows of March, but also scaled new record high levels.
As of the final closing levels of Samvat 2076, the Sensex had gained 10.7% for the year, while the Nifty was up 9.4%. However, despite gaining nearly 5,000 points in the last 10 trading sessions of the year, the Nifty Bank index ended Samvat 2076 with losses of over 3%.
Today's Mahurat trading session will take place between 6:15 P.M. to 7:15 P.M. with an eight minute pre-open session between 6 P.M. to 6:08 P.M.
