Indian Rupee Ends Flat Against The U.S. Dollar

The local rupee depreciated by 1 paise to close at Rs 83.23 against the greenback, after opening at Rs 83.22.

The Indian rupee ended flat against the U.S. dollar on Wednesday.

The local rupee depreciated by 1 paise to close at Rs 83.23 against the greenback, after opening at Rs 83.22, according to Bloomberg data.

The rupee closed at at 83.24 on Tuesday.

Reliance Securities Ltd. expected the domestic currency to trade between Rs 83.10 and Rs 83.35 on Wednesday.

The rupee is expected to move towards Rs 83.40, as long as it holds above the Rs 83.00, according to ICICI Securities Ltd.

"Investors will remain cautious ahead of key U.S. GDP and core PCE data due later this week," the brokerage said in its Sept. 27 note.

The S&P BSE Sensex closed up 173 points, or 0.26% at 66,118.69, while the NSE Nifty 50 was 52 points, or 0.26% lower at 19,716.45.
