Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday attended the flagging-in ceremony of INS Tarini in Goa.
Singh attended the event as the Indian Navy welcomed the triumphant crew of Navika Sagar Parikrama II on the successful completion of the circumnavigation of the Globe onboard the Indian Naval Sailing Vessel Tarini. Accomplishing this rare feat in double-handed mode, Lt Cdr Roopa A and Lt Cdr Dilna K arrived on the shores of Goa.
This extraordinary sailing expedition was flagged off from Naval Ocean Sailing Node, Goa on 02 Oct 2024.

MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal on Thursday said that India wants good and constructive relations with Bangladesh.
On Canada relations with India, Jaiswal said that, "Our EAM spoke to his counterpart, which was the first call between the two. PM and EAM had congratulated the new government there."

India's firm stance on Pakistan remains unchanged, terror and talk cannot go hand-in-hand said MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal on Thursday.
During a weekly press briefing, Jaiswal said that as far as bilateral talks are concerned, our stand is clear and consistent. As stated earlier, terror and talks can't go together.
"As far as terror is concerned, Pak needs to handover the terrorists to India whose list was shared by India and for kashmir, pak needs to vacate the illegally occupied Kashmir. IWT will be in abeyance till they stop supporting terror. As PM had said terror and talks can't go together," he added.

Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. with 26.4 lakh subscribers and Bharti Airtel Ltd. with 1.71 lakh subscribers net added mobile subscribers in April, while Vodafone Idea Ltd. and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. continued to report net-user losses, according to data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India on Thursday.
The Reserve Bank of India said on Thursday that the overall value of bank frauds jumped 194.4% to Rs 36,014 crore in the previous fiscal even as the bank fraud cases declined by 33.5% to 23,953 during the period, according to the RBI's annual report.
As per the annual report published by the country’s central bank, total amount involved in bank frauds rose nearly threefold in the fiscal 2024-25 even as the number of fraud cases fell sharply, as the increase was largely driven by a reclassification of several fraud cases following a 2023 Supreme Court judgement, alongside a rise in loan-related frauds.

This decision, made by a panel of three judges in Manhattan, represents a major setback for Trump's economic policies.
The court sided with Democratic-led states and small businesses, who argued that Trump had improperly used an emergency law to justify the tariffs.
US stock futures jumped and the dollar strengthened after this decision.
