Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday chaired a nearly four-and-a-half-hour meeting of the Council of Ministers at Seva Teerth in New Delhi, with discussions focusing on governance efficiency, policy execution and emerging global challenges linked to the West Asia conflict.

According to ANI, several key ministries made presentations during the high-level meeting, including the Ministries of Agriculture, Forest, Labour, Road Transport, Corporate Affairs, External Affairs, Commerce and Power.

Addressing ministers, Modi emphasised the need for quicker decision-making and more efficient governance, urging departments to reduce delays in file movement and improve productivity.

He stressed that administrative processes should move faster and called on ministries to bring greater simplicity into governance while accelerating reforms.

Reiterating the government's long-term development vision, the Prime Minister said, “Viksit Bharat 2047” is “not merely a slogan but the government's commitment.”

According to ANI, ministries that ranked lower in internal performance assessments were advised to take corrective steps and improve implementation standards.

Modi also directed ministers to intensify public outreach efforts and communicate the government's achievements over the past year more effectively.

The meeting took place amid rising global concerns over energy security and higher fuel prices due to the ongoing West Asia conflict and disruptions around the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping route for crude oil and energy supplies.

The ministers' meeting came shortly after Modi concluded his five-nation visit covering the UAE, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway and Italy, according to ANI.
