(Bloomberg) -- Republican Mike Garcia has won the race for California's 25th Congressional District, retaining the seat he won in a May special election.
Garcia beat Democrat Christy Smith, who conceded the race, according to her statement posted on Twitter.
Garcia beat Smith for the second time in six months, having flipped the seat previously held by former Democratic Representative Katie Hill, who resigned amid a House Ethics Committee probe into allegations of an improper relationship with a congressional staffer.
