Charred bodies of two Indian crew members, including the vessel's captain, were recovered after oil tanker Skylight was attacked off the coast of Oman amid escalating regional tensions, according to NDTV.

"There were 10 people on board in a carrier called Skylight when it was attacked on the coast of Oman almost two to three days ago," NDTV said. One victim has been identified as Ashish Kumar and is a resident of Bettiah, Bihar.

Relatives of Captain Ashish Kumar said they were informed by Omani authorities and India's Directorate General of Shipping that two bodies had been recovered, though both were severely charred. One body was found inside the captain's cabin. Family members said they remain in contact with the Oman embassy and have urged the Indian government to provide more information and assistance.

The incident occurred as maritime security risks intensify in the region following a series of drone and missile strikes linked to the broader US–Israel–Iran confrontation.
