China’s Imports From U.S. Rise for First Time Since August 2018

(Bloomberg) -- Chinese imports from the U.S. rose 2.7% in November from a year ago, the first time they've risen since Aug. 2018.

  • Calculation is in dollar terms
  • Note: Imports in Nov. last year fell 25% from the same month in 2017, so the rise this year is off from a low base
  • Exports to the U.S. dropped 23% in Nov. from a year ago, the 12th straight month of declines
  • The trade balance with the U.S. was $24.6 billion
