Hyderabad Lok Sabha Election Results: Owaisi Wins Against Madhavi Latha

Asaduddin Owaisi from the All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen party won the Lok Sabha constituency of Hyderabad for a fourth term with 6,61,981 votes, according to latest data from the Election Commission of India. He defeated Madhavi Latha of the Bharatiya Janata Party, who was trailing with 3,23,894 votes—a margin of 3,38,087 votes.
Hyderabad has witnessed a massive battle between its key contenders—Asaduddin Owaisi, the President of the AIMIM, and Madhavi Latha Kompella of the BJP.

The Hyderabad seat has been an AIMIM stronghold with seven Legislative Assembly segments since 1989. Owaisi had contested from this seat to become Member of Parliament four times. In the 2014 elections, Owaisi registered a significant victory against BJP’s Bhagwanth Rao with a staggering 5,13,868 votes and a vote share of 52.94%. He is up against Madhavi Latha, a newcomer backed by the BJP.
Malakpet, Karwan, Goshamahal, Charminar, Chandrayangutta, Yakutpura and Bahadurpura are the seven seats in the constituency. It saw a voter turnout of 46.08% in the fourth phase of elections held on May 13.
