- Piyush Goyal will lead India's largest business delegation to Japan from Aug 24-27

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will lead India's largest-ever business delegation to Japan, with more than 200 industry representatives set to travel to the country for a four-day visit beginning Aug. 24, government sources told NDTV Profit.
The delegation will visit Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka from Aug. 24 to Aug. 27 as India and Japan look to deepen bilateral trade and investment ties under their Special Strategic and Global Partnership.

More than 200 business representatives will come from sectors including manufacturing, semiconductors, clean energy, steel, automotive, financial services, healthcare, and startups.
"The visit reflects the scale of ambition both nations bring to their special strategic and global partnership, and comes at a time India and Japan are looking to significantly deepen trade and investment ties," it said.
In Tokyo, Goyal is scheduled to meet senior leaders of major Japanese conglomerates and industrial houses. He will also participate in a roundtable with Keidanren, or the Japan Business Federation, which represents more than 1,500 leading Japanese companies.
Dedicated sessions on semiconductors and artificial intelligence, startups and engagement with foreign institutional investors are also planned.
Goyal will hold bilateral talks with Japan's Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Akazawa Ryosei and meet senior members of the Japanese government and Parliament. He is also scheduled to interact with the Indian community in Japan.
The visit is expected to provide fresh momentum to India-Japan trade and investment ties while opening new avenues of cooperation in high-technology manufacturing and next-generation industries.

The 200-plus-member delegation includes business leaders from sectors such as manufacturing, automotive, technology, and pharmaceuticals.
Among the notable names are Vikram Chopra, Co-Founder of Cars24; Rahul Bharti, Executive Director at Maruti Suzuki; Upasana Taku, Founder of MobiKwik; and Aayush Agarwal, CEO of Snabbit.
The visit also comes ahead of a significant milestone in bilateral ties. 2027 will mark 75 years of diplomatic relations between India and Japan, as well as 50 years of the India-Japan Business Cooperation Committee.
