Maha Kumbh To Boost Uttar Pradesh’s Economy By Over Rs 3 Lakh Crore, Says CM Yogi Adityanath
"India is moving ahead as the world's fastest-growing large economy and 140 crore Indians should feel proud of this," he said.

Maha Kumbh will contribute over Rs 3 lakh crore to the state's economy, said Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Speaking during the Question Hour of the budget session in the assembly, Adityanath emphasised that Uttar Pradesh is progressing towards its target of becoming a $1 trillion economy.
"The potential of Uttar Pradesh, which the world is witnessing today, can be linked to the Maha Kumbh Mela. The Maha Kumbh alone is going to help the economy of UP grow by over Rs 3 lakh crore," he stated while responding to a query from Samajwadi Party MLA Ragini Sonkar.
Taking a dig at the SP MLA, he said, "I can understand your pain because when your leaders say that India can never become a developed country, you have to support them."
"Today, India has become the fifth largest economy in the world and in 2027 India will become a five trillion dollar economy. There is no doubt about this. India is moving ahead as the world's fastest-growing large economy and 140 crore Indians should feel proud of this," he said.
"It may be that some people do not like this because those who have their personal agenda will not accept the country's development properly."
The chief minister said the government has created a systematic action plan for meeting the 1 trillion dollar target from 2022. The government has set up programmes in 10 sectors that are being monitored by an officer of the level of additional chief secretary and principal secretary, he said.
Sonkar asked the government if it had any action plan to meet the 1 trillion dollar target and if it had any timeline for the milestone. The MLA also asked which departments were making the biggest contribution to the goal.
