Daily Covid-19 infection rate in India continued to rise in signs of the third wave hitting the world's second-most populous nation.
More than 44,000 people tested positive for the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry's Aug. 6 update. This marks the third straight day where daily cases have remained above the 42,000 mark.
India's active case load also marginally rose to 4.14 lakh.
