India has inoculated more than 15 lakh frontline healthcare workers so far, additional health secretary Manohar Agnani said in a statement today.
Over 1.4 lakh people were vaccinated till 6 p.m. on Jan. 23, eight days on since the world’s largest inoculation drive started.
Eleven people have been hospitalised till now after taking the vaccine. The government did not specify the ailments. While six have died after vaccination, none of those has deaths are related to the jabs, Agnani said.
The U.K.’s new strain of coronavirus may be more deadly than first thought, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said, as he warned again that the country faces a long wait before it can emerge from lockdown.
