Welcoming the government's recent move to impose an anti-dumping duty on the import of select steel products from China and a few other countries, Tata Steel's managing director TV Narendran said it will bring stability to the domestic steel industry.
The government recently levied anti-dumping duty on both hot rolled and cold rolled flat steel products. Anti-dumping duty is the difference between the prescribed price for import of steel and the price at which it was imported.
The period between October-December last year was a tough time for the steel industry globally but the worst is behind the industry now, Narendran said.
