Benglauru-based Ethereal Machines has created a bust of U.S. President Donald Trump and is also working on one of Ivanka Trump through its Halo 5D printer, a machine that its founder says can manufacture anything from a watch to a shirt, and even sculptures.
It is the world's first hybrid manufacturing machine, capable of “subtractive manufacturing” and 3D printing too, chief executive and founder Kaushik Mudda told BloombergQuint on the sidelines of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2017 at Hyderabad.
5-axis machining is similar to 3D printing, however it has two additional rotary axes that add more depth and allow more complex structures to be made. “3D-printing restricts a designers flow while this allows much more to be done,” Mudda said.
He added that it has innumerable applications ranging from the wearable electronics market, to aerospace, aviation, and automobile manufacturing.

To be sure, Ethereal isn't the first company to make a 5-axis machine. However, Mudda said it is 40-60 percent cheaper than most alternatives available in the market.
Not only that, Ethereal's machines are much smaller than any other alternative in the market, Mudda added.
Mudda's next target would be showcasing Halo at the CES 2018 in Las Vegas.
