Sterling Money Markets Bet Against BOE Extending QE: Chart

(Bloomberg) -- As U.K. inflation picks up, money-market pricing shows traders are raising bets on the Bank of England lifting its benchmark rate 25 basis points in 2018. While a survey of economists shows no change until 2019, sterling overnight indexed rates are pricing Governor Mark Carney to move toward tighter monetary policy and end quantitative easing. The BOE's bond-buying program is set to expire in February.
