SpiceJet has announced a promotional offer under which the budget carrier is offering up to 15 per cent discount. The booking for this SpiceJet scheme will be open till September 19. The offer is applicable on select direct domestic flights. This scheme is applicable for travel period between September 19 and October 15, 2015.
SpiceJet said that this offer is only applicable on bookings made through its website, apps and its sales and reservation centres only. SpiceJet said that there is limited inventory under the offer and seats will be available on first-come-first-served basis.
AirAsia India too had earlier come up with promotional schemes offering fares starting from Rs 1,090. Bookings under the AirAsia offer - valid on travel till February 29, 2016 - can be made till September 20, 2015.
Jet Airways is also offering a 15 per cent discount for passengers flying on Tuesdays. Budget carrier GoAir had earlier announced a similar promotional offer for passengers flying on Tuesdays.
Airlines have been announcing slew of offers almost every other week in a bid to garner market share in a fiercely competitive environment. The promotional schemes by airlines have ensured a spike in the number of people travelling by air. Passengers carried by domestic airlines in the first seven months till July 2015 rose 21 per cent to 455.78 lakh.
