(Bloomberg View) -- This week on Masters in Business, we speak with Rockefeller Foundation managing director Saadia Madsbjerg, leader of the $4 billion foundation's work on innovation.
The work that Madsbjerg does is full of surprises, and less centered on high-tech than the word innovation might suggest. For example, one project focuses on oyster beds to serve as huge, natural surf breaks from storm surges. Another examines global food scarcity and hunger and the role played by harvest loss and food waste. In the U.S., half of all food gets thrown away. Finding ways to lower waste might help feed a lot of people at little additional cost.
