An all-new Pulsar will be launched in the next six months, Bajaj Auto managing director Rajiv Bajaj told NDTV on Tuesday. The bike christened as the Super Sport Pulsar was showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo.
"I think the first time if I'm not wrong, an Indian motorcycle company would be putting a full-faired street bike," Mr Bajaj said. (Watch)
A motorcycle fairing is a shell placed over the frame of some motorcycles, especially racing motorcycles and sport bikes. The fairing is not just for aesthetics and its primary purpose to reduce air drag. The fairing improves aerodynamics of the bike and provides stability at high speeds.
Bajaj Auto will also launch two more new Pulsars in the next six months, details of which Mr Bajaj did not divulge.
"We refreshed the entire (Pulsar) range, but people expect us to do more than refresh, so we must. So we will have three launches over the next six months including that of what we like to call the super sport Pulsar, the full-fared one," Mr Bajaj said.
Currently the Pulsar is available in the following variants-Pulsar 200 NS, Pulsar 220 Pulsar 180, Pulsar 150, Pulsar 135 LS.
