Oberoi Group Announces CSR Framework 'Elements' With Sustainability Push
The CSR's ethos is informed by the elements of Earth, Water and Air.

The Oberoi Group on Monday announced its new corporate social and environmental responsibility framework that it has named 'Elements', according to a press release from the company.
The group described it as an "evolved sustainability vision". They are intended to be deeply embedded in its operations and expanded consistently to accommodate for the needs of the planet, people, and future generations.
The CSR's ethos is informed by the elements of Earth, Water and Air. These elements are meant to guide their goal setting which is meant to "reduce ecological impact, drive operational innovation, and uplift communities,"
“We have always believed that excellence must be enduring. As we grow and expand our footprint, sustainability is not just a value—it is a way of life that shapes how we build, serve, and lead. With Elements by Oberoi, we reaffirm our commitment to responsible growth, where every decision is made with care for our planet and our communities," Arjun Oberoi, Executive Chairman, The Oberoi Group, said.
The 'Earth' element is reflected through the integration of organic farming, locally sourced ingredients, sustainable landscaping, waste-to-compost systems and natural surroundings into the design of the hotel, according to the release.
The firm also said that it minimises waste through eco-friendly amenities, and the elimination of plastic water bottles across all Oberoi Hotels and Resorts, and material reuse.
The group said that the 'Water' element is taken care of via circular water management practices such as advanced rainwater harvesting and zero liquid discharge systems as well as sustainable laundry operations.
"Our initiatives also extend beyond hotel boundaries, supporting marine conservation and responsible water usage across communities," the release said.
The company plans to address the 'Air' element through its stated commitment to reduce its carbon footprint and implement clean energy, smart systems, and air purification across its hotels.
Its properties will have solar- and wind-powered operations to electric vehicle charging infrastructure and automated energy systems.
The company plans to support surrounding communities by embedding local art and craft into its hotel design, and fostering talent through purposeful collaborations.
Oberoi Hotels and Resorts plans to do the following by 2030: recycle 100% of waste water and reduce fresh water consumption per occupied room by 20%, source 50% of electricity from renewable energy, and transition transport fleets to fully electric vehicles and phase out fossil fuel-based thermal systems in favour of electric alternatives across all new hotels and while replace equipment at existing hotels.
“True luxury is defined by the care with which we serve our guest and equally demonstrate through our actions towards people, the community and our planet. With Elements by Oberoi, sustainability is seamlessly embedded into the guest journey and in how we engage with people, the communities around us and our precious environment. Our commitment is to creating experiences that are both meaningful and mindful," Vikram Oberoi, Chief Executive Officer of The Oberoi Group, said.
