RailTel Corp. on Wednesday announced the declaration of a second interim dividend.

The development followed the meeting that was held on Wednesday, during which the board of directors declared the second interim dividend at the rate of 10% of paid-up share capital, according to the company's exchange filing.

This translates to a dividend of Re 1 against each share held by the company's shareholder on the record date.

The disclosure added that the board of directors has also approved April 2 as the record date for the purpose of payment of the second interim dividend for the financial year ending March 2025.

The date of payment or dispatch of the dividend warrant shall be April 9, the Navratna PSU's filing stated.

Earlier this month, the broadband and VPN services provider had reported that it had received the work order from Northern Railway totalling Rs 28.29 crore. RailTel has to complete the order by Sept. 6, 2026, the exchange filing had added.

The contract entails the installation and commissioning of indoor and outdoor double distant signalling systems. These systems are essential for enhancing railway safety and operational efficiency.

In January, Chairman and Managing Director Sanjai Kumar had told NDTV Profit that he expected the company to end fiscal 2025 with new orders to the tune of Rs 2,500 crore.

Kumar had also said, “In FY26, I would say that we will maintain 25% to 30% growth and maybe do better.”

Shares of RailTel Corp. closed 1.31% lower at Rs 289.20 apiece on the BSE, compared to a 0.10% decline in the benchmark Sensex.
