The Mumbai Metropolitan Region faced a power outage on Monday morning after a Tata Power Ltd.'s power grid failure, according to a tweet by Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport. The outage has also affected local railways.
The outage, which happened at 10:15 a.m., will likely take 45 minutes to 1 hour to be restored, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's Public Relation Officer told BloombergQuint.
The electric supply is inttruptted due to TATAs incoming electric supply faiure.

Inconveniences is regretted.Soon after BEST's tweet, the Western Railway office announced the suspension of train services between Churchgate and Borivili. “It shall be resumed as soon as traction power supply is restored. Commuters are requested to cooperate,” the tweet said.
The Central Railway, too, tweeted about the disruption.

Trains in Roha-Diva-JNPT sections are running.The Mumbai Metropolitan Region, spread over 4,355 square kilometers, consists of eight municipal corporations or Greater Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan-Dombivali, Navi Mumbai, Ulhasnagar, Bhiwandi- Nizamapur, Vasai-Virar and Mira-Bhayandar, according to the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority website.
It also includes nine municipal councils of Ambarnath, Kulgaon-Badalapur, Matheran, Karjat, Panvel, Khopoli, Pen, Uran, and Alibaug, along with more than 1,000 villages in Thane and Raigad Districts.
