Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani on Saturday delivered an emotionally charged and reflective address at the 25th anniversary celebration of the Vishakha Group, calling the company's rise a “story not of contracts, but of conviction, trust, and shared destiny.”

Speaking before employees, partners, and members of the founding Doshi family, Adani traced the origins of Vishakha's partnership with the Adani Group back to 1992, highlighting how a crisis in the global polymer trade laid the foundation for a business relationship — and friendship — that would evolve into one of India's most admired industrial collaborations.

Crisis-Era Meeting Sparked A 35-Year Partnership

Adani recounted the turbulence following the Gulf War when supply chains collapsed and India faced severe rupee devaluation. With polymer imports plunging and factories across India staring at shutdowns, Adani Exports (now Adani Enterprises) was forced to halve supplies to distributors.

In that period, he said, “many traders saw the shortage as an opportunity,” but Jigish Doshi chose responsibility over profit. Instead of negotiating for more allocation, he approached Adani with a group of small customers to explain the human and industrial impact of the crisis.

Impressed by Doshi's integrity, Adani decided to supply directly to him, extending credit and bypassing layers of distributors. That moment, he said, “was the birth of a friendship built on trust, fairness, and principles.”

From One Conversation To A Family Of Enterprises

The relationship deepened in 2001, when Adani invited Doshi to partner on a polymer film packaging line, saying simply: “This has to be done together by the two of us.”

That partnership eventually grew into a diversified group under the Vishakha banner, spanning:

  • Vishakha Polyfab
  • Vishakha Moulding
  • Vishakha Irrigation and Pipes
  • Vishakha Renewables
  • Vishakha Solar Films
  • Vishakha Metals
  • Vishakha Glass

Adani described this growth as a result not of boardroom negotiations, but “shared conscience, trust, and a belief in doing the right thing.”

Vishakha's Manufacturing Scale Becomes A National Benchmark

Highlighting Vishakha's industrial achievements, Adani called the Group's solar‑glass facility “a national capability.” Within just 24 months, the company built India's largest solar‑glass furnace, a 660‑ton‑per‑day facility that he said matches the world's best.

A far more ambitious Phase 2, now underway, aims to nearly double capacity to 1,260 tons per day, making it the largest such furnace ever constructed in India. Adani also noted the Group's plan to ignite the new furnace in just 20 months, calling it “a speed that redefines Indian manufacturing.”

Alongside the glass facility, Vishakha has built one of India's largest integrated aluminium complexes, including the country's biggest fully automated anodizing line.

But the real strength, he said, lies in the integrated 12‑GW solar ecosystem where glass, aluminium, films, and advanced materials are manufactured together — “a coordinated industrial symphony designed to serve India's renewable future.”

A Tribute To Family Values And Integrity

Adani also praised the Doshi family's culture of service and unity, noting how Jigish's personal values — shaped by a family deeply engaged in social and spiritual work — have shaped Vishakha's ethos.

He addressed the next generation of leaders — Akshat, Pranav, Karan, Sagar, and Jeet—urging them to safeguard the trust on which the company was built. “Your challenge will not be to grow the balance sheet. It will be to guard the integrity that built it.”

A Journey of Courage, Trust, and Expansion

Closing on an emotional note, Adani thanked his long‑time partner and friend.

“This journey has been of courage, of trust, and now of expansion,” he said, adding in Gujarati that though Vishakha has grown many branches, “the heart that connects us has always remained one.”

He ended his address with a promise that “the picture is still incomplete” — signalling that the Vishakha‑Adani partnership is poised for much larger ambitions in India's renewable and advanced materials sectors.
