Jaishankar Flags 'Super El Nino' Risk, Warns Of Looming Global Food Crisis

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar warned that a combination of disrupted grain exports, worsening fertiliser shortages and the prospect of a "super El Nino" could trigger a major global food crisis in the coming months. Speaking at an Asia Society event, Jaishankar said the fallout from geopolitical conflicts, supply chain disruptions and climate-related risks was placing immense stress on developing economies already grappling with energy and financial challenges.
