Netflix is gearing up for a strong second quarter, unveiling a slate that combines high-profile new series, much-anticipated finales and an impressive array of international titles. The lineup follows a successful Q1 performance and reflects the platform’s confidence in its 2025 offerings.

According to Netflix, Q2 will feature a mix of genres and star-studded productions aimed at catering to a diverse global audience. Among the major highlights is the return of Squid Game, the Korean dystopian drama that became a cultural phenomenon. Its final season is set to premiere on June 27, 2025, accompanied by a new update to Squid Game: Unleashed, one of Netflix’s most successful gaming ventures. The franchise continues to expand its global footprint with immersive experiences currently running in New York, Sydney and Seoul. It is also going to arrive in London soon.

Netflix’s film lineup this quarter includes Nonnas, starring Vince Vaughn. Also premiering is Straw, a new drama from Tyler Perry featuring Taraji P. Henson. From Japan comes the action-packed Bullet Train Explosion. Rounding out the Q2 offerings is Havoc, a thriller led by Tom Hardy and Forest Whitaker. These releases reflect Netflix’s continued push into blockbuster territory with high production values and international appeal.

Several new series are set to premiere this quarter. One of those is Forever, a modern take on Judy Blume’s 9175 novel. Then there’s The Royals, a romantic comedy set in India. The Four Seasons is another comedy featuring Tina Fey, Steve Carell and Colman Domingo. From Argentina comes El Eternauta. Finally, there’s Ransom Canyon, which adds a romantic western to the lineup.

Popular returning titles include new seasons of Ginny & Georgia, Black Mirror and America’s Sweethearts: The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.

Meanwhile, Netflix is preparing to say goodbye to two fan favourites — Big Mouth, the Emmy-winning animated series, and YOU, both concluding with final seasons.

Looking ahead, the highly anticipated boxing rematch between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano is scheduled for July 11. The last bout, aired in November 2024, broke records as the most-watched professional women’s sports event in US history on a streaming platform. Netflix has also secured rights to stream an additional NFL game on Christmas Day 2025, continuing its foray into sports broadcasting.

The streaming giant’s Q1 performance set the stage for this promising lineup. Hits included Adolescence, which has already become Netflix’s third most-watched English-language series (124 million views) and Back in Action, the sixth most popular English-language film with 146 million views. International content also saw strong performance, with France’s Ad Vitam and Mexico’s Counterattack ranking among the platform’s most-viewed non-English language films.

The platform showcased wide genre diversity in the first quarter, from action series like The Night Agent Season 2 to comedy favourites like Running Point and true crime sensation American Murder: Gabby Petito. Global productions remained central to Netflix’s strategy, with notable contributions from Germany (Cassandra), Korea (The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call), Argentina (Envious Season 2), and Sweden (The Åre Murders), among others.

Netflix also continued to explore innovative formats, adding the toddler series Ms. Rachel to its catalogue and renewing the Sidemen’s reality show Inside for a second season.

The leading OTT player’s commitment to high-impact special events remains steady as it has entered into a new deal with WWE. In India, Netflix is now the exclusive broadcaster of WWE, including live streams with Hindi commentary.
