Big Billionaire Club At New World Record With Over 3,000 Moneybags
About 60% of this year's billionaires were not on the list 10 years ago, showing how rapidly wealth creation has taken place.

Hold on to your hats and make space, folks, because the billionaire club just got a whole lot more crowded.
While one side of the world is battling poverty and struggling to make ends meet, the other side lives in bling of the big bucks and black card ka-chings. Forget slow and steady, the growth of the billionaire club is seeing the ultimate boom.
Hurun Global Rich List 2025 reveals that there are 3,442 billionaires in the world. Up 164 this year, the number of known billionaires hit a new world record of 3,442.
That's a whole lot of money and a whole lot of people. Now, to put the numbers in perspective, this is more than double the 1,453 billionaires in 2013, which was only 12 years ago.
The 'Ten-zero club' or those with $10 billion or more, has grown twofold in a decade to over 200 individuals. The basket of billionaire clubs now also has the '11-zero club'.
Now this club is studded with the crème de la crème that is 17 individuals with $100 billion or more. This club has sprouted from zero to nearly 20 in just eight years. If this was not proof enough for the billionaire boom, the survey also reports that 82 individuals added over $5 billion to their wealth only in this year.
Let's Hear It For New York
As for the land with the most people with deep pockets, New York is back for the second time as the billionaire capital of the world. London follows the concrete jungle in second place, while Shanghai became the Asian billionaire capital for the first time with 92 billionaires.
For the first time in 10 years, the US with 870 billionaires overtook China. India is third with 284 billionaires, followed by the UK, Germany and Switzerland. Singapore jumped three places to the 13th position, overtaking Indonesia, Thailand and Japan.
Money Makes Money, Must Be Funny
Financial services are the main source of wealth for billionaires, according to the Hurun report. One in 10 billionaires make their money through money management and this is followed by consumer goods and healthcare.
There are 3,442 billionaires in the world and 9.8% build their empire in financial services. Consumer goods account for 8.6%, healthcare contributes 7.6%, and investments make up 7.2% of the billionaires' wealth, according to the survey.
Greenback: Billionaire's Business Card
The greenback, the business card of the billionaires, has continued to make the rich richer. The surge in US stock markets and the continued strength of the dollar have concentrated the economic power into the hands of these billionaires.
About 60% of this year’s billionaires were not on the list 10 years ago, showing how rapidly wealth creation has taken place. As if these numbers were not already wild enough, Hurun expects that by 2030, the world might see its first trillionaire.
