Amid surging demand for OTT content in India, telecom majors Airtel, Jio and Vi are ramping up their offerings in the digital streaming space. They are offering prepaid plans that bundle popular streaming platform subscription plans, giving consumers added entertainment value at no extra cost.

Here's a comparative look at the most affordable prepaid plans with OTT benefits offered by these major telecom players.

Airtel Rs 301 Plan: Affordable 5G With One-Month OTT Access

Airtel’s Rs 301 plan is among its most pocket-friendly options, offering OTT access. Subscribers get unlimited local and roaming voice calls, 100 SMS per day and 1GB of 5G data daily for 28 days. The highlight of the plan is a 28-day JioCinema (previously JioHotstar) subscription, enabling users to stream a range of content, including sports and entertainment.

Once the daily data quota is used, browsing speeds drop to 16kbps. Under the Fair Usage Policy (FUP), SMS beyond the daily limit is charged at Re 1 for local messages and Rs 1.5 for STD ones.

Jio Rs 299 Plan: Three Months Of Streaming At A Lower Price

Reliance Jio offers an OTT prepaid plan with its Rs 299 pack. It comes with a daily data allowance of 1.5GB of True 5G for 28 days (total 42GB), unlimited local and STD calls and 100 SMS per day. The key attraction is a complimentary three-month JioCinema Mobile subscription, valued at Rs 149, bundled into the package.

Additional perks include access to JioTV and 50GB of Jio AICloud storage. Once the data cap is reached each day, speeds drop to 64kbps. Users should note that to retain uninterrupted access to the OTT subscription, they must recharge within 48 hours of plan expiry.

Vi Rs 239 Plan: Cheapest With OTT, But Limited Data

Vodafone Idea’s Rs 239 plan is the lowest-priced option among the three, offering OTT benefits through a one-month JioCinema subscription. It includes unlimited local and roaming calls, 300 total SMS and just 2GB of data for the full 28-day validity period. Post data exhaustion, users are charged Rs 0.5 per MB.

While it covers basic mobile needs and offers OTT access, it lacks the generous daily data allowance and additional app benefits seen in the prepaid plans offered by Airtel and Jio.

Consumers seeking more data and perks may consider upgrading to Vi’s Rs 399 plan, which includes 2GB daily data, 100 SMS/day, unlimited calls and weekend data rollover, alongside the same one-month OTT access, as per a Gadgets 360 report.

Overall, Airtel’s Rs 301 prepaid plan is the most expensive among the three, while Vi offers the cheapest option at Rs 239. But Jio’s Rs 299 plan stands out as the best value-for-money pick, offering daily True 5G data, unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day, along with access to JioTV and 50GB of Jio AICloud storage.
