Several users of the Samsung Galaxy A56 are facing issues in starting their phones following a software update rolled out recently. According to SamMobile, the software update allows users to access Gemini by pressing the side button. Along with this, the software update also contains the May 2025 security patch.

This feature is already available in the Galaxy S25 lineup, which runs on One UI 7. Though the Galaxy A56 also comes with One UI 7, it does not come with the side-button shortcut to access Gemini. The latest update seeks to change this.

However, some users have reported problems booting the Galaxy A56 following the software update, as per an Android Police report.

A post on the Samsung community forum by a user said the phone gets stuck at startup.

The Android Police report suggests the issue is not widespread, but it is nonetheless a concern as it has affected quite a few users. Further, Sammy Fans added that many users were able to install the software update without any issues.

On the community forum, users have also posted potential solutions for the problem. One solution that has worked for some users is to restart the phone without the SIM card.

For this, the phone must first be switched off. It should be followed by removal of the SIM card, restarting the phone and inserting the SIM card once the phone is on. This approach has solved the booting problem for several Galaxy A56 users.

It is important to note that the above-mentioned solution has not been officially prescribed by Samsung.  Moreover, there has been no acknowledgement of this problem from Samsung.

As of now, there is no clarity about the cause of this problem. The same update was also rolled out for the Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A26, but these devices did not face any booting issues.
