As Rockstar Games readies GTA 6 launch, fans throughout the world are getting excited about what may be in store. And GTA 5 enhanced for PC roll out has just provided a sneak peek.

GTA 6 launch is scheduled for release in the Fall of 2025. The Grand Theft Auto 6 fan following, which is huge by any standard, is all agog and waiting for two things. One is the announcement of the much-anticipated GTA 6 trailer 2, which should have been announced months ago. The second thing is GTA 6 launch date. There is much worry and fear being expressed in fan communities globally about the game being postponed to 2026.

It has been over a year since the first official trailer was released in December 2023. The trailer introduced us to the game’s key characters and some cool details.

As fans eagerly await more information, speculation about some of the game’s top features are already building. And now, they have something substantial to base their theories on.

With the release of the GTA 5 enhanced for PC version, fans have begun drawing comparisons to speculate what to expect from GTA 6. Many are looking at the improvements in graphics and performance as they seek to predict the next instalment in the series.

A report by UK's Eurogamer stated that given the advanced features of GTA 5, including its ability to toggle ray-traced global illumination, fans can expect the advanced RT features on GTA 6 too.

GTA 6 Launch Date: Why You May Not See Any Game Launch Around Fall of 2025

GTA 5, which was released over 12 years ago, was developed during a time when the gaming industry was yet to fully adopt techniques like physically based art pipelines and advanced shading methods. Subsequently, even in its latest enhanced version, the ray tracing feature has significantly improved the gaming visuals. However, it doesn’t exactly match the level of a brand-new triple-A release.

Therefore, fans are happy to know that GTA 6's first trailer revealed a per-pixel RTGI implementation. This indicates that the highly anticipated launch will have enhanced lighting effects, especially with emissive materials, marking an attempt by Take Two to push the visual boundaries with advanced lighting technology.

The report added that the first trailer has made it clear that the RTGI feature in GTA 6 will be far from simple. It said that an RTX 4060 at 1440p with DLSS 3, ultra RTGI, and ultra RT reflections runs GTA 6 smoothly at 60fps, even in dense traffic with all settings maxed.

According to the report, this is an indication that its ray tracing is well optimised, which means the GPU can focus more on other high-quality visuals.

However, the game will still put a heavy load on the GPU overall.
