Google Pixel 9a Battery: What Will Upcoming Phone Pack As This Pixel Turns Fire Hazard?

How powerful will the Google Pixel 9a battery be? That has been on the minds of users recently apart from other specs and features. This is being driven by the fact that Google Pixel 9a launch is expected soon, perhaps by March 19. However, even as Google Pixel 9a's reported launch date draws near, Google Pixel 4a batteries are facing some heat Down Under. In fact, Pixel 4a batteries have been dubbed as a fire hazard, and a recall order has been issued against this smartphone in Australia by the authorities.
Reportedly, Australia’s regulatory agency, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission, has issued a recall notice for the Google Pixel 4a because its batteries pose a fire hazard. The Google Pixel 4a battery problem has apparently surfaced following a recent Battery Performance Program update.
The Pixel 4a recall applies to devices sold between Aug. 1, 2020 and Sept. 30 2022.
What About Google Pixel 9a Battery?
Well, most reports have it that the Google Pixel 9a battery is set to get a significant upgrade as compared to the Google Pixel 7a and Google Pixel 8a. The Pixel 9a is expected to have an improved battery life with the rumoured use of the newest Tensor G4 chipset.
According to rumours, the Pixel 9a is expected to have a 5,100mAh battery. Compared to the Pixel 7a and Pixel 8a, which have 4,385mAh and 4,492mAh batteries respectively, this will be a major battery boost.
Even if we look at the Pixel 9 series, the Pixel 9 has a 4,700mAh battery, while only the Pixel 9 Pro XL—with its 5,060mAh battery—comes close to the rumoured 5,100mAh battery size of the Pixel 9a. Google Pixel 4a battery is just 3080mAh.
As a result, the Pixel 9a may end up having one of Google phones’ largest batteries, which means better battery life and users will get to enjoy gaming and other pastimes without suffering from "low battery anxiety."

Google Pixel 9a Charging Updates
The Google Pixel 9a may see a minor increase in wired charging speeds, up to 23W, which would be a respectable boost from the 18W charging speed of earlier low-cost Pixel devices. Meanwhile, it will likely support wireless charging at 7.5W.
When it comes to time to charge, the Pixel 7a takes two hours to full charge, from 0% to 100%, and the Pixel 8a requires roughly an hour and 46 minutes. The Google Pixel 9a will probably take around two hours to fully charge its 5,100mAh battery.
