We're a little over a month away from the biggest tech launch of the year: iPhone 17. Apple is expected to raise the curtains over the base iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and the all-new iPhone 17 “Air” at its September event.
Expected features aside, speculations have been rife about the possible pricing of the iPhone 17, with Trump tariffs and Apple's cost increases coming into the picture.
The base iPhone usually accounts for the majority of iPhone sales. Let's look at the expected iPhone 17 prices for the base model, and what new will it bring.

These prices are purely speculative, and the potential impact of any tariffs or cost increases due to Apple's design changes and upgrades remains to be seen. Notably, predictions from Morgan Stanley indicate that Apple may raise iPhone prices by 4% to 6% to offset the effects of Trump tariffs.
Which means the base iPhone 17 could cost as much as Rs 89,900 in India.
iPhone 17 Specs And Features
The entry-level iPhone 17 is expected to feature a larger 6.3-inch display, which will be an upgrade from the 6.1-inch screen of the iPhone 16. Apple could also enhance the base iPhone 17's display to a 120Hz LTPO OLED panel, another upgrade from the 60Hz panel from last year.
While the base iPhone 17 is expected to maintain the same wide and ultrawide cameras, there are rumours of a new 24MP front-facing camera.
The other speculation is around the chipset. While earlier reports claimed the older A18 chip will still be used in the base iPhone 17, recently there are indications it might come equipped with the new A19 processor after all. It, however, remains uncertain if the base variant will see an increase in RAM from 8GB to 12GB. Additionally, the device might support Qi 2.2 wireless charging.
In terms of software, the iPhone 17 will run iOS 26 and come with the Liquid Glass interface.
