Reliance Jio Q4 Results: ARPU Up 1.4%, Margin Flat

The telecom arm of Reliance Industries Ltd. logged a bottom-line of Rs 6,642 crore, as compared to Rs 6,477 crore in the December quarter.

Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. posted a 2.5% sequential increase in its net profit during the quarter ended March 31, 2025, according to the consolidated financial results posted by the company on Friday.

The telecom arm of Reliance Industries Ltd. logged a bottom-line of Rs 6,642 crore, as compared to Rs 6,477 crore in the December quarter.

The average revenue per user increased by 1.4% to Rs 206.2 as compared to Rs 203.3 in the preceding quarter.

Reliance Jio's earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation expanded 2.4% sequentially to Rs 15,852 crore, whereas the Ebitda margin stayed flat at 52.81%.

The company said in a release that the increase in ARPU during the quarter under review was driven by "continued impact of the tariff hike and better subscriber mix partly impacted by lower number of days in the quarter".

Reliance Jio, which is the country's telecom operator, increased its subscriber base 1.3% to 48.8 crore as compared to 48.2 crore as of Dec. 31, 2024.

The net subscriber addition was 6.1 million during the quarter, Reliance Industries said. "New additions were driven by the rebound of mobility additions post tariff hike and the steady ramp-up of connected home," it said.

Reliance Jio Infocomm Chairman Akash Ambani lauded Jio's "consistent outperformance" in customer engagement. "Jio is proud to have served millions of users at world’s largest congregation of people, the Mahakumbh mela where its network scalability and flexibility was well demonstrated. Jio is working on enabling large scale AI infrastructure and services that will add an intelligence layer to all Jio services," the press release quoted him as saying.
