(Bloomberg) -- Ireland's Prime Minister Leo Varadkar signaled temporary arrangements may be needed to avoid chaos should the U.K. crash out of the European Union without a deal.
Such an accord may have to cover customs and regulations to keep the Irish border free of infrastructure, he told lawmakers in Dublin on Wednesday. He said he expects a meeting of EU leaders to endorse the current Brexit deal on Sunday, and it isn't inevitable that U.K, Prime Minister Theresa May will fail to get that deal through parliament.
Northern Ireland's status is a key sticking point in Brexit talks, with the focus on avoiding border checkpoints returning once the U.K. exits the bloc.
