Who Is Rajit Gupta? Meet Kota Teen Who Topped JEE Advanced 2025
Rajit Gupta scored an impressive 332 out of 360 marks in the highly competitive computer-based exam held on May 18.
Rajit Gupta from the IIT Delhi zone has secured the All India Rank 1 in the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced 2025. The results were declared today by IIT Kanpur, the organising institute for the exam.

Hailing from Mahavir Nagar in Kota, Rajasthan, Rajit Gupta had earlier secured a 100 percentile in both sessions of JEE Main 2025.
The second and third ranks have been secured by Saksham Jindal and Majid Mujahid Husain, respectively.
Who Is Rajit Gupta?
Gupta is a resident of Mahaveer Nagar in Kota, Rajasthan.
His father, Deepak Gupta, is a Sub-Divisional Engineer at BSNL and an alumnus of NIT Allahabad. He had secured 48th rank in the Rajasthan Pre-Engineering Test in 1994, narrowly missing the top position by just a few marks, Times of India reported.
His mother, Dr. Shruti Agarwal, is a professor of Home Science at JDB College in Kota.
A student of Allen Institute, Kota, Rajit Gupta began preparing for engineering entrance exams as early as Class 6, as per the Free Press Journal.
Gupta has also excelled in the field of science. He represented India at the Asian Physics Olympiad 2024 held in Malaysia, where he won a bronze medal. He has also been selected three times for the Orientation-Cum-Selection Camps in Junior Science, Astronomy, and Physics, some of the prestigious platforms for budding scientists in the country.
A consistent academic performer, Rajit Gupta scored 100 marks in Mathematics and a high score in science in his CBSE class 10 exams, finishing with an overall percentage of 96.8%.
With his sights now set on IIT Bombay, Rajit Gupta plans to pursue a BTech in computer science, his dream course.
Speaking to PTI, he credited Kota's ecosystem for his success. “I had the privilege of being from Kota, so I studied here only. But most of my batchmates are from other states, and they too were glad to have come to Kota.” He encouraged aspirants across the country to stay in close touch with their teachers, even if they can’t physically relocate to Kota.
“It was very good. Our coaching institute and my parents helped us a lot. I tried to give my best," he told ANI.
JEE Advanced is considered one of the toughest entrance exams in India and serves as the gateway to prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology. Only the top 2.5 lakh candidates from JEE Main are eligible to appear for it.
